Saturday, August 1, 2026 - Detectives from the Anti-Narcotics Unit (ANU), working jointly with officers from Ololua Police Station, have uncovered a cannabis farm in Kajiado County following an intelligence-led operation.
Acting on credible intelligence, the officers raided the
site and found a thriving cannabis cultivation operation.
The scene was secured before the detectives uprooted the
cannabis sativa plants that had been illegally cultivated.
During the operation, the officers recovered 78.98 kilograms
of suspected cannabis sativa packed in five sacks, with an estimated street
value of Ksh 2,369,000.
A 40-year-old suspect, identified as Joseph Leimyayan, was
arrested at the scene and is currently in police custody.
Detectives are finalising investigations before arraigning
him in court.
The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) reaffirmed
its commitment to combating the cultivation, trafficking, and distribution of
narcotics across the country.
The agency also appealed to members of the public to continue providing actionable intelligence to help law enforcement dismantle illegal drug networks and bring those involved to justice.
