Thursday, March 5, 2026 - A Bungoma County Revenue Officer is facing public outrage after a video emerged online showing him harassing and attempting to assault a trader who had visited his office seeking services.
The officer, identified as Barasa, was captured in a heated
confrontation with the trader inside the county offices.
The trader had gone to seek assistance, but the officer
reportedly turned him away and attempted to chase him out of the office.
In the viral clip, Barasa is heard making bold remarks as
the argument escalates, claiming that no action could be taken against him even
if the matter was reported to higher authorities.
“You can as well go to the Governor’s office and say
Barasa has chased you away. Hakuna mahali utanipeleka,” the officer is
heard saying in the video.
Moments later, the situation becomes tense as the
officer appears to move towards the trader in an aggressive manner, seemingly
attempting to rough him up.
The video has sparked widespread criticism online, with many
Kenyans calling on Bungoma County authorities to take disciplinary action
against the officer for abuse of office.
