Friday, January 30, 2026 - Two brothers were lynched and their father left battling for his life in the Intensive Care Unit after an enraged mob descended on them following allegations of cattle theft in Kwa Kea Malili area, Makueni County.
According to residents, the three were intercepted while in
possession of stolen cattle.
Locals say incidents of cattle theft have become rampant in
the area, leaving families counting heavy losses.
Tensions boiled over after several residents identified the
animals as belonging to neighboring homesteads, prompting a violent
confrontation.
In the chaos that followed, the two brothers were beaten to
death, while their father sustained critical injuries and was rushed to
hospital.
A vehicle believed to have been used by the suspects was set
ablaze.
