Friday, November 07, 2025 - Former President Uhuru Kenyatta has issued a stern warning to Jubilee Party officials over what he described as disrespectful and divisive politics targeting former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua.
Speaking during a grassroots meeting in Murang’a on Friday,
Uhuru expressed disappointment over party members who have resorted to insults,
particularly on social media.
“I’m saddened to see people pretending to defend the party
by insulting Rigathi Gachagua and others.”
“I don’t want that nonsense in my party,” Uhuru declared.
He singled out Jubilee Secretary General Jeremiah Kioni,
cautioning him against leading attacks on Gachagua and threatening disciplinary
action against officials who continue the trend.
“Before I hand over this party, I will not hesitate to call
them out and send them packing,” he warned.
Uhuru urged party leaders to focus on promoting Jubilee’s
manifesto and attracting new members, rather than engaging in petty political
feuds.
He also voiced support for Fred Matiang’i’s presidential
ambitions, praising his leadership record while dismissing claims of personal
bias.
The remarks come amid growing internal tensions, following
Kioni’s recent claims that Gachagua was bullying Matiang’i and secretly working
with President Ruto ahead of 2027.
