Thursday, November 27, 2025 - Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua’s Democracy for the Citizens (DCP) party has claimed it confiscated Ksh 18,000 from an elderly man allegedly caught bribing voters during the Mbeere North by-election.
In a statement released on Thursday, November 27th, 2025, the party reported that the incident occurred at Ndutori Primary School polling station.
“Our team (Ndutori Primary) has confiscated 18k from an elderly man who was bribing voters.”
“We will be there no matter what! Operation Funga Kiosk,” the statement read.
The by-elections have been marred by widespread claims of voter bribery and intimidation, with some party agents reportedly chased away from polling stations by angry residents, raising concerns over electoral integrity.
