Monday, October 13, 2025 - A General Service Unit (GSU) officer assigned to guard the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) perimeter lost his life on Sunday evening, October 12th, following a violent confrontation at a resort in Embakasi, Nairobi.
According to a police report, the officer had visited the
hotel to charge his mobile phone when an altercation with a civilian escalated
into a physical fight.
A resort supervisor told authorities he witnessed an
unidentified man strangling the officer within the premises.
Responding officers from Embakasi Police Station later
discovered the officer’s lifeless body submerged in a nearby water-filled
trench.
The body bore visible injuries to the neck and face,
suggesting possible strangulation.
The motive behind the confrontation remains unclear, but
witnesses say the officer was overpowered during the scuffle.
Police have launched a manhunt for the suspect, whose
identity is still under investigation.
The body has been transferred to the City Mortuary for a
post-mortem examination.
Authorities are urging anyone with information to come
forward to assist in the ongoing investigation.
