Monday, September 1, 2025 - Eight-year-old, Jennifer Michelle Achieng, was allegedly killed by her teacher at New View Academy in Kayole after failing to answer a question correctly, and a cover-up was quickly staged to bury the truth.
Reports indicate that pupils who witnessed the chilling
incident were each handed Ksh 30 to buy their silence.
When human rights activist Njeri Migwi led protests
demanding justice, she was instead arrested, dragged to court, and harassed by
authorities.
Shockingly, the school continued operating as if nothing had
happened.
“I used to go there every morning and remind parents that
their kids could be killed too,” Njeri recalled.
The matter even reached the Senate, yet no meaningful action
was taken.
In what many saw as an attempt to silence the bereaved
family, Jennifer’s mother was reportedly given a job, while Njeri’s court case
was quietly dropped last year.
Meanwhile, the school has since rebranded under a new name and still operates in the same neighborhood.
