Monday, April 15, 2024 - Former Gatanga Member of Parliament Peter Kenneth has crawled back to life after a two-year absence from the political scene.
Speaking during a burial service in Gatanga Constituency,
Kenneth called for the resignation of Agriculture CS Mithika Linturi and other
government officials involved in fake fertiliser distribution.
According to Kenneth, people in Mt Kenya were suffering because
of Ruto’s bad choices of leaders.
“We all grew up in this area where Coffee factories were being given genuine fertilisers.
"If a farmer is being given fake fertiliser and
is being taxed when the fertiliser cannot be used for production, it is a
disgrace,” he regretted
“People who are concerned with this fake fertiliser should
make a normal call and quit. It is an embarrassment.”
The politician noted that Ruto’s administration was
deceiving subsistence and small-scale farmers with substandard fertiliser.
He explained that it was unfair for Mt Kenya residents to be
hurt by unfavorable policies from the government.
“This government was elected overwhelmingly in this area and
the bulk of supporters are suffering and it is no longer politics,” he
stated.
On the issue of striking medics, Peter Kenneth, who
supported Raila Odinga’s Azimio in the last General Election, remarked that it
was a matter of humanity, where services have to be provided to the people.
He noted that it was unfortunate that Kenyans were dying as
they could not go to public hospitals and could not afford private
hospitals.
He further warned the national government on the manner in
which the doctors’ strike was being handled and called for the resignation of
Health CS Susan Nakhumicha.
