Fake Cops? Boda boda rider physically assaulted by some men claiming to be police officers in Nairobi as they extorted money from him (VIDEO)

Thursday, October 1, 2026 - A boda boda rider has shared a video showing him being harassed and physically assaulted by some plain-clothed men who claimed to be police officers.

The rider was running his errands when the men confronted him, claiming that he had violated traffic rules despite being in possession of all the required documents.

The men turned violent after he demanded to see their job cards to prove that they were indeed police officers.

In the video, one of the men is seen hurling insults at the rider and assaulting him with handcuffs before threatening to teach him a lesson he would never forget.

The man is heard saying that he would release the other riders and arrest the victim for failing to cooperate and asking too many questions.

The video has sparked an online buzz, with many people questioning whether the men were fake cops or rogue police officers using their authority to extort money from boda boda riders.
