A night of private escapade between two teachers based at Kiambu High School at Todas Hotel almost ends in a tragedy after a fight

Friday, July 31, 2026- What is believed to have been a private escapade between two teachers attached to Kiambu High School almost ended in tragedy after a violent altercation broke out at a hotel in Kiambu Town, leaving a female teacher seriously injured.

The incident occurred in the early hours of Wednesday at Todas Hotel, where James Mugo Wanja, 30, and his colleague, Lilian Ng'endo, 35, had reportedly booked a room.

According to police reports, the hotel's night supervisor alerted officers after hearing a commotion and a woman screaming for help from one of the rooms.

Police officers who responded to the distress call found Lilian with a deep cut on her forehead.

She was rushed to hospital for treatment as officers secured the scene and launched investigations into the incident.

James Mugo Wanja was arrested and is alleged to have assaulted his colleague during the altercation.

The circumstances that led to the fight remain unclear, and detectives are investigating what transpired before the confrontation turned violent.

Police have since launched investigations into the incident as the suspect remains in custody pending further action.
