Wednesday, June 03, 2026 - Raila Odinga Junior, the son of late former Prime Minister Raila Odinga, has fulfilled a vow he made in December 2025 to honor his father’s legacy by reviving his iconic Hummer SUV.

The striking red‑wine Hummer H3, once grounded, has now been meticulously restored to its former glory.

Raila Jnr proudly unveiled the restored car, posing beside it in a yellow shirt and fedora hat.

He explained that while his initial plan was to move the car directly to the Kango Ka Jaramogi Museum, he wants Kenyans to interact with it first.

“A story of restoration, my initial idea was to take it to the museum, though I’d like Kenyans to interact with it before I do,” he captioned.

In December 2025, Raila Jnr publicly committed to refurbishing the Hummer as a tribute to his father’s enduring influence.

Gifted to Raila Odinga ahead of the 2007 General Election by businessman Don Bosco Gichana, the Hummer became a symbol of Raila’s campaign.
