Monday, June 15, 2026 - Nominated Senator, Tabitha Mutinda Munene, reportedly used her influence to have her husband arrested and detained at Kilimani Police Station following a family dispute.
Reports indicate that the Senator’s husband was arrested in the early hours of Friday and held in custody throughout the weekend, before being taken to court on Monday morning.
His arrest is said to have escalated tensions within the family, especially as he is still grieving the recent loss of his mother.
He is also said to be taking care of his elderly father, who is battling chronic illness.
According to reports, the family is facing financial strain, with claims that auctioneers are pursuing assets linked to unpaid obligations.
“The husband also takes care of his sick elderly father who is an old man dealing with severe health issues alongside extreme stress. The father generously put up his shamba as collateral to secure bank loans to fund the couple's new house and businesses,” a source alleged.
“Because of financial strain, that family land is now at risk of being repossessed by auctioneers. While all this happens, Tabitha is busy moving around doing PR, showcasing her generosity in helping people yet she's traumatizing her own husband & his family,” the source further added.
