The controversy erupted after a netizen leaked what was
alleged to be the project’s expenditure breakdown, sparking outrage among
Kenyans online.

Consultation fees (design & supervision):

The figures have left many Kenyans stunned, with critics
questioning how such a modest facility could attract such inflated costs.
Netizens have since called on the Ethics and Anti‑Corruption Commission (EACC) to investigate the matter, terming it blatant misuse of taxpayers’ money.
