Friday, March 6, 2026 - As leaders and ordinary Kenyans continue to mourn the late MP, Johana Ng’eno, social media users have unearthed an old post by a lady who previously accused the legislator of short-changing her after making a public promise.
The late MP attended the burial of the woman’s mother, who
had died following an accident.
During the burial ceremony, Ng’eno promised to help
the lady secure a job, noting that she had become the sole
breadwinner of her family after her mother’s death.
However, the woman later claimed that after the burial, her
attempts to follow up on the promised job were
unsuccessful, alleging that the MP stopped picking up her calls.
Frustrated, she took to social media to express
her disappointment and frustration, narrating how the promise
made publicly during the burial was never fulfilled.
Now, as the late MP is being laid to rest,
social media users have revisited the post, sparking mixed reactions online.
Some netizens say the incident should serve as a lesson to leaders about making promises they cannot keep, especially during emotional moments such as funerals.
