RUTO reveals his last conversation with late Emurua Dikirr, MP JOHANA NG’ENO, commits Ksh.20 million to continue his initiatives

Friday, March 06, 2026 - President William Ruto has pledged to allocate Ksh.20 million annually for the next five years to sustain the late Emurua Dikirr MP, Johana Ng’eno’s artists’ empowerment programs.

Speaking during the funeral service for Ng’eno and four other victims of the February 28th helicopter crash in Mosop, Nandi County, Ruto praised the legislator’s passion for uplifting artists and vowed that the Government will continue his work through the Ministry of Arts, Culture and Heritage.

“Kwa sababu alifanya hiyo kazi ya artists kujitolea, ata kifo chake ametoka akiwa ameenda kusaidia artists kule Endebess, Ng’eno deserves recognition,” Ruto said.

“For the next five years, tutatoa pesa Ksh.20 million kila mwaka kupanga kazi Ng’eno alikuwa anafanya.”

The President recalled Ng’eno’s determination, citing an instance when the MP urgently requested Ksh.30 million within 48 hours to host an empowerment event for over 20,000 artists in Eldoret.

Ruto said he directed the Ministry of Sports to coordinate with Ng’eno to ensure the funds were released.

Reflecting on their last conversation, Ruto revealed that Ng’eno had campaigned for UDA candidate, Tubi Mohamed Tubi, in the Isiolo mini‑polls, which ended in victory.

"Mara ya mwisho kuongea na Ng’eno ni kama wiki mbili zilizopita.”

“Tulikuwa na uchaguzi wa mbunge wa Isiolo. Niliuliza Ng’eno na wengine kuenda kufanya campaign wa candidate wetu na akapata 90 per cent of the vote," the President recalled.
