IYANII’s ex girlfriend, SHES KEMUNTO, addresses claims of Ksh 200,000 monthly ‘girlfriend allowance’ from the Donjo Maber singer and why she dumped him

Thursday, March 12, 2026 - Kenyan social media influencer, Shes Kemunto, has lifted the lid on her past relationship with singer, Ian Okwemba Oure popularly known as Iyanii.

Speaking in a candid interview with radio host Alex Mwakideu, Kemunto dismissed claims that she received a monthly “girlfriend allowance” of up to Ksh 200,000 from the Donjo Maber hitmaker.

Kemunto revealed that she only ever received the allowance once during their entire relationship, contrary to Iyanii’s earlier statements that he regularly supported his partner with between Ksh 150,000 and Ksh 200,000.

However, she explained that the gesture was not a major factor in their romance, noting that she accepted it out of love rather than financial need.

The influencer went further, disclosing that she never knew where Iyanii lived.

She only knew the residence of his friend, a situation that left her unsettled and emotionally drained.

Attempts to raise the issue often ended in conflict, forcing her to avoid the topic to keep the peace.

Kemunto admitted the relationship took a heavy toll, saying she never felt appreciated and often found herself leading instead of enjoying the partnership.

“I forgot about myself. My feminine side dropped the moment I entered this relationship. I felt like I was the head, guiding him on how to treat me,” she confessed.

Despite hoping for a romantic, international‑style relationship filled with shared experiences, Kemunto said Iyanii was “barely trying.”

She confirmed they broke up in January after five months together, ruling out any chance of reconciliation.

“What happened, my birthday was on January 1st; on dates 2nd and 3rd, I was with him, and after that is when I concluded enyewe hii imeisha, I did not do any statement, I went silent,” she explained.

Adding: “I gave him that, and he showed me you do not need to give me another chance.”
