RAILA ODINGA’s former chief agent SAITABAO OLE KANCHORY claims BABA had a strategy to make RUTO one term President

Tuesday, December 09, 2025 - Former Azimio chief agent, Saitabao Ole Kanchory, has sensationally alleged that late former Prime Minister Raila Odinga had crafted a strategy aimed at ensuring President William Ruto serves only one term in office.

Speaking during a live interview on Spice FM, Kanchory said the much‑publicized 10‑point agenda was never intended as a joint initiative with UDA, but rather a set of demands designed to challenge the Kenya Kwanza administration ahead of the 2027 elections.

“The 10‑point agenda was not one where ODM was supposed to do together with UDA, but were demands that the Kenya Kwanza administration was supposed to implement,” he stated.

Kanchory dismissed claims that Raila had joined Government, clarifying that only experts were seconded.

“I have heard people say that Raila left us in Government; he did not. Raila left Mbadi, Wandayi, Joho, and Oparanya in Government,” he remarked.

According to Kanchory, the agenda was deliberately time‑bound, set to expire in March 2026 - just a year before the 2027 elections.”

He claimed Raila knew the tasks would take longer than a year to accomplish, effectively setting Ruto up for failure.

With only months left, Kanchory alleged that none of the points have been implemented.

He further quoted Raila’s words: “Who told you that ODM will not have a candidate?”

Kanchory warned that backing Ruto would weaken ODM, but fielding a presidential candidate could reinforce its position as a national movement with widespread support.

President William Ruto recently weighed in on the 2027 race shortly after Raila’s death, declaring that the late Raila Odinga would have been his only serious challenger.

He dismissed current opposition leaders, including Rigathi Gachagua and Kalonzo Musyoka, as lacking vision and credible policies.

Ruto insisted that none of the present figures in the opposition camp pose a real threat to his re‑election bid.
