Nairobi cab driver who was assaulted by four women in Kilimani recounts the chilling incident as he seeks justice - “Hawakuwa Wamerequest Gari Yangu”

Wednesday, December 24, 2025 - A Nairobi cab driver has shared a harrowing account of how he was attacked by four women in Kilimani, an ordeal captured on video and widely circulated on social media.

The driver narrated the frightening experience in a clip posted by Nairobi County’s Citizen Engagement and Customer Care boss, Geoffrey Mosiria, on December 24th, 2025.

The driver explained that he had been requested by a male client, picked him up, and was waiting for the client’s friends when the incident unfolded.

“Mimi nilikuwa nimerequestiwa na client, a guy, nikaenda kumchukua hapo black samurai, so the customer alikuja akaingia kwa gari as we wait for his friends to come,” he said.

While waiting, four women approached the car.

“So hao wasichana walikuja wakashuka hapo chini wakafungua mlango, mmoja akafungua mlango akaka mbele mwegine akajaribu kufungua nyuma akapata kuna client amekahapo wakamwambia ashuke wao wako wanne na hii gari ni kubwa na yenye walirequest ilikuwa ndogo,” he recounted.

The situation escalated when the client inside the car shut the door, reportedly catching one woman’s fingers.

“Nikawaambia No, I already have a client and na nimeanzisha trip yake, so there is no way I can cancel the trip ndio niwapeleke, on the process huyo client alifunga mlango na nikama huyo msichana alifinywa vidole,” he added.

The injured woman retreated, but her friends turned on the driver.

“Msichana alirudi nyuma ya gari akavunja ndio nikatoka kwenda kumshika ndio marafiki zake wakakuja na kuanza kunipiga.”

Emphasizing that the women were not his clients, he said: “They were not even my clients; hawakuwa wamerequest gari yangu. I had another client.”

Mosiria condemned the assault, calling for police intervention.

“Yesterday, I met an Uber driver who was beaten up by four ladies in Kilimani… For how long are we going to neglect and ignore the boy child?” he asked.

He urged authorities to re-arrest the women and stressed: “GBV has no gender, and justice must apply equally to everyone.”
