Thursday, December 04, 2025 - Google has released its annual list of the most searched Kenyan personalities, offering a snapshot of the figures who captured public attention in 2025.
At the top is celebrated middle and long‑distance runner
Faith Kipyegon, who made headlines in September after storming to her fourth
world 1,500m title during the World Athletics Championships in Tokyo.
Her triumph cemented her status as Kenya’s most searched
personality of the year.
Other names dominating searches include EALA MP, Winnie
Odinga, ODM Party leader, Oburu Oginga, veteran radio presenter, the late
Edward Kwach, and Siaya Senator James Orengo.
Rosemary Odinga, Deputy Inspector General of Police, Eliud
Lagat, Margaret Nduta, and former Public Service CS, Justin Muturi, also
featured in the top 10.
Nduta’s story drew global attention after she was sentenced
to death in Vietnam for drug trafficking, only to have her sentence commuted to
life imprisonment in July following a successful appeal.
Muturi, meanwhile, trended after his dismissal from Cabinet
in March following a fallout with President Ruto.
DIG Lagat was highlighted after being linked to the
controversial death of teacher and blogger, Albert Ojwang, in police custody,
though he was later cleared by IPOA.
