Friday, December 19, 2025 - Comedian Eric Omondi has spoken candidly about the emotional weight he carries while running his humanitarian initiative, Sisi Kwa Sisi.
During an interview On Friday, December 19th,
2025, the entertainer nearly broke down in tears as he revealed how handling
distressing cases daily has taken a toll on his mental health.
Eric explained that the constant stream of heartbreaking
stories from Kenyans in need has left him overwhelmed.
“So hiyo kitu is traumatising,” he admitted,
reflecting on the pressure of supporting vulnerable families and children.
Holding up his phone, he described how countless messages
weigh on him quietly:
“Nitasimama aje na Wakenya… Mungu anajua.”
He noted that many of the appeals involve mothers and
children facing dire hardship.
“Kuna wamama hapa, watoi wengine wanakufa manze,” he
said, adding that some of the messages are too painful to share publicly.
While he often goes live to highlight cases, Eric confessed
that he cannot broadcast every story:
“Siwezi enda live every time.”
Despite the strain, Eric emphasized that he feels a deep
sense of responsibility because of the influence he holds.
He described Sisi Kwa Sisi as something bigger
than himself, a platform he believes was divinely entrusted to him.
“God ametupea ma number. Na tutasustain, imekua kitu God
amepea Eric Omondi,” he said.
He also challenged media practitioners to appreciate the
unseen burden he carries.
“Mkiona naget emotional, siku moja watu wa media mchukue
hii phone yangu mkae nayo 6 hours mgo through it once,” he urged.
According to Eric, Sisi Kwa Sisi has become a safe
space for Kenyans - a bridge for those in pain.
“Walipata Sisi Kwa Sisi imekua bridge, so wamama wamepata
place wanaweza come kulia,” he explained.
