Wednesday, November 05, 2025 - Afrobeat icon, Burna Boy, has opened up on his quest for spiritual clarity after converting from Christianity to Islam.
In a heartfelt chat with Jennifer Hudson, the Nigerian
Grammy winner, born Damini Ogulu, shared his evolving relationship with faith.
“Of course, because that’s what your parents believe and
that’s what you were born into,” he said, reflecting on his Christian
upbringing.
“Growing up, I was a Christian and then I converted to
Islam.”
His journey hasn’t stopped there.
Burna revealed that he’s explored various belief systems,
hoping to uncover deeper truths.
Yet, the more he learns, the more elusive clarity becomes.
“It’s like I’ve studied it all, but I’m still out here
trying to find out what is really going on, you know?”
“The more I research, the more confused I get.”
