TRAGEDY! GSU officer attached to Recce Squad electrocuted to death while washing his bicycle at the Juja camp!

Tuesday, October 28, 2025 - A General Service Unit (GSU) Recce Squad officer died on Saturday, October 25^th, 2025, after being electrocuted while cleaning his bicycle at the Kimbo Camp in Juja Sub-County, Kiambu County.

The officer, identified as Police Constable Benedict Juma Oduori, was reportedly using an electric car wash machine when the fatal incident occurred.

According to a police report filed by Chief Inspector Meshack Ikuthu, a fellow officer at the camp, Oduori was discovered unconscious by the sentry on duty, still holding the machine.

He was rushed to the camp’s dispensary and later referred to Kenyatta University Referral Hospital, where he was pronounced dead while receiving treatment.

A postmortem examination was conducted at the hospital to establish the precise cause of death.

The Recce Squad, to which Oduori belonged, is a highly trained and specialized unit within the GSU.

Authorities are investigating the incident to determine whether faulty equipment or other factors contributed to the tragedy.
