Police officers who provided security during CHAN cry foul after receiving only Ksh 300 per day despite initial Ksh 12,000 per day promise

Tuesday, September 16, 2025 - Police officers deployed to provide security during the African Nations Championship (CHAN) have finally been paid by the local organizing committee (LOC), but their joy quickly turned to anger after discovering massive deductions from the promised allowances.

Initially, each officer had been assured of Ksh 12,000 per day to cater for meals, transport and other logistics.

However, the figure was mysteriously slashed to Ksh 3,300 per day.

In a shocking turn of events, further unexplained deductions were made, leaving the officers with a paltry Ksh 300 per day worked.

The revelation has sparked outrage among officers, with many accusing the organizers of exploitation and betrayal after long hours of service during the continental tournament.
