Thursday, September 4, 2025 - Kenyan sports journalist, Mukami Wambora, is making waves on the global stage with her latest career move after joining SportyTV, a Madrid-based international sports media outlet.
The former Citizen TV anchor was officially welcomed by the
station on September 3rd, with SportyTV celebrating her as a fresh
voice from Africa.
“We are excited to welcome our newest journalist to the
team. Representing Kenya and the continent of Africa, Mukami Wambora,” the
outlet announced.
Mukami, known for her sharp analysis and charismatic on-air
presence, expressed pride in the opportunity:
“I’m really happy to be here, representing my country,
Kenya, representing my continent, Africa, and now representing SportyTV.”
Her journey to the global arena is nothing short of
inspiring.
A graduate of the University of Liverpool and the Kenya
School of Law, Mukami initially worked in the legal field before pivoting to
her true passion - sports journalism.
From writing football articles to acing a voice test at
Capital FM, her rise has been fueled by grit and talent.
She has since anchored at Bamba Sports, Citizen TV, and
Nation FM’s #SportOn, covering marquee events like the 2018 FIFA World Cup and
the INEOS Challenge in Austria, where marathon legend Eliud Kipchoge ran a
sub-two-hour marathon.
In 2023, she was elected Treasurer of the Sports Journalists
Association of Kenya, further cementing her leadership in the field.
