Tuesday, August 27, 2025 - Harambee Stars winger Boniface Muchiri has been promoted from Private to Corporal in the Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) in recognition of his outstanding contributions to the national football team.
Muchiri, who also serves as the assistant captain of Ulinzi Stars FC, has been a consistent performer for both club and country, earning praise for his discipline, commitment, and leadership on the pitch.
His promotion comes after repeated appeals from CHAN captain Abud Omar, who had publicly urged President William Ruto to approve the recognition, noting Muchiri’s service as both a soldier and a sports ambassador.
The elevation marks a proud moment not only for the player but also for Ulinzi Stars.
