Vocal UDA MP declares Kenyans are "done" with RUTO and will make him ‘wantam’ President in 2027 elections

Tuesday, July 15, 2025 - Outspoken Githunguri Member of Parliament, Gathoni Wamuchomba, has issued a scathing assessment of President William Ruto’s administration, saying Kenyans are fed up and are simply waiting for his constitutional exit in 2027.

Speaking during an interview on Citizen TV on Tuesday, Wamuchomba accused Ruto's Government of widespread corruption, economic mismanagement, and using lethal force to suppress protests.

“We have already finished with President Ruto. We are just allowing him to pack slowly and leave honourably through the constitution,” she stated.

She called for the return of allegedly looted public funds and claimed Ruto stands no chance of re-election.

“The solution between now and 2027 is for William Ruto to return the money that his Government has looted,” she said.

“He has two years to restore it and calm the anger of young people, to calm pensioners, whose money has also been slashed.

“We are giving him two years to pack slowly as he returns the country to its default mode,” Wamuchomba said.

Wamuchomba also condemned Ruto’s recent remarks encouraging harsh police action against protesters.

“You are not a village elder, you are the President of the Republic of Kenya.”

“Whenever you open your mouth, you must be measured and speak with respect,”

“How do you refer to the citizens who elected you as ‘those people’? He must tone down,” Wamuchomba said.
