Saturday, July 20, 2024 - Former Defence Cabinet Secretary Aden Duale has lauded President William Ruto for reappointing him to Cabinet even after sacking him two weeks ago for being incompetent and corrupt.
Taking
to his X account, Duale stated the nomination was a reflection of the
President and the Kenyans' profound trust and confidence in his ability to
advance the nation's agenda.
According
to the former CS, he was ready to fulfill his fresh mandate in bolstering the
national security of Kenya and contributing to its greatness.
Duale
further exuded confidence in facing the National Assembly's committee for
vetting and public scrutiny.
"Am
ready and willing to present myself to the National Assembly's relevant
committee for vetting and public scrutiny. Quran (2:152): "So remember Me;
I will remember you. And be grateful to Me and do not deny Me," Duale
remarked.
"I
extend my deepest gratitude to H.E. President William Ruto for
nominating me as Cabinet Secretary for the Ministry of Defence," he added.
Ruto
nominated 11 individuals for consideration as Cabinet Secretaries and Attorney
General.
Among
those who were nominated included Kithure Kindiki, who was nominated as Interior
CS, Alice Wahome (Lands), Aden Duale (Defence), and Soipan Tuya (Environment).
Others
include Davis Chirchir (Roads and Transport), Rebecca Miano (Attorney General), Debra Mlongo Barasa (Health), Julius
MigosI Ogamba (Education), Andrew Mwihia Karanja (Agriculture), Eric Muriithi
Muuga (Water) and Margaret Nyambura Ndung'u (ICT).
