RAILA ODINGA breaks silence following a rise in the brutal murder of young women in the country as RUTO and KINDIKI maintain silence.

 Wednesday, January 17, 2024 - ODM leader, Raila Odinga, has condemned the recent brutal killings of young women, among them Pastor Kanyari’s sister Starlet Wahu.

Taking to his official social media platforms, Raila said the ugly scourge of murder of women should be declared a national emergency.

He further termed the rising murders of women in the country as a threat to homeland security, adding that murder is and will always be wrong.

“It is sad to see a troubling increase in the deaths of young women, leaving a trail of grief for families and friends. 

"The abnormality of these murders cannot become the new normal. Murder is and will always be wrong, and there is no excuse. 

"The ugly scourge of murder of women is now a national emergency. It is a threat to homeland security. It must come to an end,’’ he wrote.

Raila’s remarks come amidst a probe of a young lady who was brutally murdered at an Airbnb along TRM Drive over the weekend.

Police have arrested three suspects in connection with the murder, among them a Nigerian national.
