 However, things took an unexpected turn when the day for dowry negotiations arrived.

The man's friend was reportedly asked for millions.

 Although he had the money, his plan was to invest in a business that would support him and his future wife as they raised their children.

He proposed paying a lower amount or settling the dowry in instalments.

However, the woman's family, led by her father, refused to lower the amount or accept payment in instalments.

The man reportedly walked away and left his fiancée at her parents' home.
