Friday, November 6, 2026 - A Kikuyu man identified as Elvis Wanderi has inspired many after sharing photos showing his remarkable transformation following his decision to quit alcohol.
In an emotional post, Wanderi opened up about his recovery
journey, revealing that some people have urged him to stop sharing his old
photos because he is now doing well.
However, he explained that remembering his past struggles
with alcoholism is an important part of his recovery.
“Addiction doesn't retire, it waits to return,” he wrote.
Wanderi said looking back at how he was during his drinking
days reminds him of the suffering he went through and helps him appreciate the
importance of staying sober.
He added that the photos could also inspire someone else who
is struggling with alcohol addiction to seek help and believe that recovery is
possible.
“Same person, different times. Recovery is possible! I'm still recovering from alcoholism, living a day at a time,” he stated.
