Tuesday, October 6, 2026 -Twenty-three-year-old Walter Kipkoech has been arrested after brutally killing his girlfriend, 18-year-old Joy Faith Wangui, a Form Four student in Molo.
Kipkoech was traced to a
hideout in Lagwenda village, Kuresoi North, where detectives from Molo,
alongside their counterparts from the Crime Research and Intelligence Bureau
(CRIB) at the Regional Criminal Investigations Headquarters, Rift Valley,
smoked him out.
Kipkoech had fled shortly
after the brutal murder.
Joy’s lifeless body was
discovered in her brother’s house, with her head missing.
The deceased’s head was later
discovered in a corridor, where a message had been scrawled on the wall using
blood: “I love you, Joy, but never cheat, I'm sorry.”
It has now emerged that
Kipkoech had confronted Joy on WhatsApp before the murder.
He complained that Joy had
dumped him despite him sponsoring her education.
However, Joy responded rudely
to his message before the tragic incident.
The messages have since emerged as detectives continue with investigations into the circumstances surrounding the gruesome murder.
