Vocal South Mugirango MP SILVANUS OSORO opens up on secret behind his 17-year marriage.

Saturday, August 01, 2026 – Outspoken South Mugirango MP Silvanus Osoro has offered a rare glimpse into the habits that have sustained his marriage for 17 years.

In an interview with a local media house, Osoro reflected on marrying his wife in 2009 and credited simple, consistent practices for keeping their bond strong.

One of his golden rules is avoiding nights away from home unless absolutely necessary.

Even after political engagements outside Nairobi, he prefers catching a flight back rather than sleeping in hotels.

“Why should I sleep in a hotel when I can come home?” he posed, adding that nothing compares to waking up beside his family.

Osoro also prioritizes quality time, rarely staying out past 10 p.m.

He enjoys watching his children tackle homework, sharing meals, and unwinding together.

While disagreements are inevitable, Osoro revealed he has never shouted at or physically assaulted his wife.

Instead, they resolve issues privately, away from their children. “We talk about it and finish it,” he said, stressing that life is too short to cling to conflict.

Osoro also revealed that he deliberately shields his wife from social media and political events.

 “Protect your family from your public life. Guard your family at all costs,” he said.
