The late KCB Bank Senior Executive ROSEMARY KIMWATU’s estranged husband, KEVIN MIGWE, torments her even in death as he stops her burial - Inside the family dispute with his in-laws

Saturday, August 29, 2026 - It has now emerged that the late Kenya Commercial Bank (KCB) Head of Data Protection Unit, Rosemary Kimwatu, had separated from her husband, Kevin Migwe Kimwatu, four months before her death.

The revelations came to light after Migwe moved to court, seeking to block her burial at her parents’ home in Kericho County.

In a witness statement filed at the Milimani Commercial Court, Kimwatu states that he married the deceased on August 24, 2013.

He said their marriage was a happy, loving and harmonious union characterised by mutual affection, companionship and support.

He also admitted that at some point, their marriage experienced challenges, forcing his estranged wife to move out of their matrimonial home.

However, before her death, she had requested to return, a request he had agreed to, allowing her to go back.

Sadly, she died before she could return.

“I affirm that prior to her death, and following a period of separation of about four months, the deceased requested to return to the matrimonial home, to which request I duly agreed. Unfortunately, the deceased passed on before she could return home,” Kimwatu stated.

Kimwatu told the court that his wish was to bury his wife at their ancestral home located in Matasia within Ngong Sub-County, Kajiado County, adding that it is the rightful place where she should be interred.

He is seeking to block her burial at her parents’ home in Kericho County.

He argues that Rosemary’s parents and sister have locked him out of all burial plans and arrangements and are set to bury her at their home in Kericho.

“Having not been involved in the burial arrangements, I am apprehensive that my deceased wife will not be given a befitting send-off and, further, whether our children and I will ever have access to the deceased’s grave site,” Kimwatu states.

The court subsequently issued orders restraining KCB, its employees and Rosemary’s family from removing Rosemary’s remains from Lee Funeral Home and burying her pending the hearing of Kimwatu’s application.
