Wednesday, March 11, 2026 - Drama unfolded at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) after an airport worker was confronted by an American tourist who accused him of demanding a $200 (about KSh 26,000) bribe to “assist” him after customs flagged his luggage.
The disgruntled tourist secretly recorded the interaction
after the airport official allegedly approached him with an offer to help clear
the issue with his bags in exchange for cash.
In the clip, the visibly frustrated tourist confronts the
official, questioning why he was being asked to pay money to resolve the
matter.
The worker reportedly told the tourist that he could
“assist” him with the situation if he paid $200, implying that the payment will
help smooth the process after customs raised concerns about the contents of his
luggage.
However, the tourist refused to comply and confronted the
official over the alleged bribery attempt.
