Thursday, January 15, 2026 - A dramatic scene unfolded along the busy Thika Superhighway after a man was confronted by auctioneers and had his vehicle repossessed over an alleged loan default.
According to reports, the man had taken a loan
from Stanbic Bank, using his car as collateral.
After defaulting on the loan repayments, the bank dispatched
auctioneers to recover the vehicle.
In the viral video circulating online, the visibly
distressed man is seen pleading with the auctioneers and urging them to follow
due process and the law.
Despite his appeals, the auctioneers proceeded with the
repossession as curious motorists and pedestrians looked on.
The incident sparked mixed reactions online, with some
sympathizing with the man over the public humiliation, while others pointed out
the risks involved in using personal assets as collateral for loans.
