“ODM SG Senator EDWIN SIFUNA reveals little known details about his Lawyer wife and why ‘he doesn’t argue with her’

Thursday, January 15, 2026 - Nairobi Senator and ODM Secretary General, Edwin Sifuna, has for the first time opened up about his wife, offering rare insights into his private life away from the political spotlight.

Known for his sharp debating skills and fiery tongue in Parliament, Sifuna revealed that at home, the dynamics are very different.

Speaking on the Mic Cheque podcast, the Senator shared that his wife, also a lawyer, is “way smarter” than him and holds a Master’s degree.

“I don’t even argue.”

“You just agree to what she says.”

“She is a lawyer, she has a Master’s degree, she’s a writer, and she was a KWS prosecutor,” he said.

He went on to describe her impressive career path as an environmental lawyer, recalling her time as a prosecutor with the Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS).

Sifuna went on to give a hilarious reason why he doesn’t argue with his wife at home.

“She’s the only one in the house who knows how to use firearms, so this is not a person that you should argue with,” he quipped.
