Thursday, January 15, 2026 - Outspoken Mumias East Member of Parliament, Peter Salasya, has once again stirred conversation with his unconventional views on marriage.
Taking to social media, the youthful legislator declared
that he intends to marry three wives and revealed his plan to accommodate all
three of his future wives under one roof.
“This house has really drained my finances. I won’t build
any house.”
“All my three wives I will marry will stay here though sija
wajua ni kina nani, but will stay here as one family,” Salasya wrote.
According to him, each wife will occupy her own floor in the
multi‑storey home.
“Mmoja ground floor wa pili first floor, third second
floor alafu nitakuwa naita mmoja mmoja uko third floor,” he said, adding
that the arrangement reflects his identity as a typical polygamous Luhya man.
Salasya’s personal life has increasingly drawn public
attention, especially after his November 2025 appeal for a wife, which even
attracted a response from Ida Odinga, who promised to look into his request.
The MP insists that his current house is sufficient for his polygamous vision, noting that the setup saves him from the financial strain of building separate homes while still giving each wife her own space.
