Friday, January 16, 2026 - American streamer, Darren Jason Watkins Jr, better known as IShowSpeed, has disclosed that his livestream from Egypt was the most expensive production of his ongoing 28‑day African tour.
The high‑energy content creator went live from the iconic
pyramids of Giza on Thursday, January 15th, 2026, and later
explained that strict regulations and logistical hurdles made Egypt stand out
as the costliest destination.
“Chat, this stream in Egypt was the most expensive ever.”
“You guys don’t know it. I usually do a lot for you so you
can see things,” Speed told his millions of viewers, emphasizing his commitment
to delivering immersive, high‑quality experiences.
He added that Egypt required permits for nearly every
location, creating administrative challenges that pushed costs far beyond other
tour stops.
“Streaming here, basically, you have to get permits for pretty much
everything and every place. There are a lot of restrictions over here,”
he said.
Egypt marked the 11th stop on Speed’s whirlwind
journey across Africa.
Before arriving in North Africa, he had streamed from
Ethiopia, following a lively two‑day visit to Kenya where fans turned out in
droves to meet him.
His Kenyan stop came after Rwanda, continuing a fast‑paced
adventure that has seen him crisscross the continent, documenting culture,
landmarks, and spontaneous street moments.
The tour began in Angola on December 29th, 2025,
before moving to South Africa, Mozambique, Eswatini, Botswana, Zimbabwe and
Zambia.
Each destination has offered unique highlights - from safari
adventures and traditional dances to viral crowd interactions and heartfelt fan
encounters.
