How undercover cops cornered 2 thugs involved in armed robberies in the city as they were preparing to stage a robbery in Ruai, killing them on the spot



Wednesday, January 28, 2026 - Police have confirmed that two suspects, believed to be planning armed robberies in Ruai, were fatally injured during a confrontation with officers on Monday, January 26th.

According to police sources, an undercover team based in Kayole had been tracking the suspects after receiving credible intelligence linking them to planned criminal activity in the Ruai area.

The operation followed the suspects from Nebras Club to the vicinity of CCI Church, Ruai.

At around 7:00 pm, the suspects reportedly became aware of the officers’ presence and opened fire.

The officers responded immediately, killing them on the spot.

A firearm, reported stolen in a previous incident, was recovered at the scene.

Preliminary investigations indicate that the two individuals were connected to a wider criminal network operating across Nairobi, Murang’a and surrounding areas.

Police say all required legal procedures have been observed.

Authorities also commended the officers involved for their professionalism and dedication to public safety.

Investigations into the suspects’ broader links and past activities are ongoing.
