Wednesday, January 28, 2026 - A concerned Kenyan has exposed a rogue traffic police officer accused of soliciting bribes from motorists along the Northern Bypass, particularly during the early morning hours.
According to reports circulating online, the officer, said
to be attached to Kahawa West Police Station, positions himself at a
hidden corner along the busy bypass, where he targets motorists who make wrong
turns.
It is claimed that the officer threatens offenders with
towing and detention of their vehicles, prompting many motorists to opt for
paying bribes to avoid the inconvenience and costs associated with impoundment.
In the video shared on social media, the officer is seen
hiding while closely monitoring traffic along the bypass, waiting for motorists
to flout traffic rules before extorting money from them.
