Heartbreaking scenes as Kirinyaga MCA comes face to face with the man who killed his only daughter during a court session - Suspect was arrested on Kenya - Uganda border (PHOTOs)

Thursday, January 15, 2026 - Emotions ran high at a court session after nominated Kirinyaga Member of County Assembly, Lucy Njeri, came face to face with the man suspected of killing her only daughter, Seth Nyakio.

Seth Nyakio was found murdered in 2024 inside a rented house in Biafra Estate, Thika, in a case that shocked many Kenyans.

The suspect, who had been on the run for over a year, was arrested last month near the Kenya-Uganda border.

Following his arraignment, Lucy Njeri shared photos of the suspect on her Facebook page, expressing hope that justice will finally be served for her late daughter.

She described the court encounter as emotionally overwhelming but said she remains committed to seeing the legal process through.

During the session, the court directed that the suspect undergoes a mental assessment before further proceedings, as part of the judicial process.
