RUTO sets the record straight on working with KALONZO ahead of 2027 elections during Ukambani tour

Friday, November 14, 2025 - President William Ruto has left Ukambani residents and Kenyans speculating about his political intentions after declining to clarify whether he will work with Wiper leader, Kalonzo Musyoka.

Speaking exclusively to Ukambani‑based media houses on Thursday, November 13th, 2025, at the Kitui State Lodge, Ruto dismissed claims that he was courting Kalonzo ahead of the 2027 General Elections.

“As to matters regarding the relationship between political parties, those are discussions that are just politics.”

“I am not here to discuss matters of politics,” he said.

The Head of State stressed that his focus remains on development projects in the region, not political maneuvering.

“I am here to discuss the development of the great people of Ukambani, and I will limit myself to that.”

“Matters of politics we will discuss when the right time comes, and everyone knows how they will handle their political issues,” Ruto added.

He further highlighted his commitment to completing projects initiated under former President Uhuru Kenyatta.

“The former President recently said that it took him about two and a half years to complete most of the projects started by his predecessor, and I have also done just like him.”

Earlier, during a Kitui rally on July 18th, Energy Cabinet Secretary Opiyo Wandayi expressed optimism that Kalonzo will eventually join Ruto’s camp.

“I respect Kalonzo Musyoka; he is my friend. I am certain he will soon work with Raila and Ruto to push Kenya forward,” Wandayi said.

Kalonzo, however, rejected the overture, declaring, “I will never join this rogue and criminal regime,” and ruled out dialogue with the current administration.
