27, 2025 - A notorious online cryptocurrency fraudster has been arrested
and arraigned in court, following a meticulous manhunt by Kilifi North
detectives, who apprehended him in Kiamunyi, Nakuru County.
Bavon Onyancha Masese, also known as Abdirahaman Abdikarim
or Jamie Damon, was brought to justice after investigators uncovered that he
had swindled Ksh 3.9 million from a Kilifi woman.
This discovery immediately put him on the radar of law
enforcement, leading to an intensive operation that effectively ended his
string of fraudulent activities.
Further investigations revealed that Bavon was linked to
multiple digital transactions and unlawful cryptocurrency operations used to
defraud victims across Kenya.
He has now been arraigned at the Kilifi Law Courts to face
prosecution.
He will be facing multiple charges, including money laundering, unauthorized
registration of SIM cards, obtaining money by false pretence, and conspiracy to
defraud, among
others.
Authorities say the case highlights the growing need for vigilance as online financial crimes continue to target unsuspecting members of the public.
