Monday, November 24, 2025 - Students at Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology (MMUST) were left in shock after a 22-year-old student, Peter Hezy Peter from Kisii, was found dead in his rental house in Kakamega.
According
to fellow students, Peter had been absent from class on Friday, raising concern
among those close to him.
When
attempts to reach him through calls and messages failed, his friends visited
his residence.
After
receiving no response, they forced the door open and discovered that he had
passed away.
In
the days leading up to the incident, Peter had posted worrying and emotional
messages on his Facebook and WhatsApp accounts, prompting friends, including
his classmate Churchill Kipkoech, to try reaching out to him.
In
the disturbing messages, the deceased had pointed out at a possible heartbreak.
Police have launched an inquiry, and the body has been taken to the morgue for further examination.
