Tuesday, November 25, 2025 - A suspected female drug trafficker’s attempt to smuggle cocaine into the country was foiled at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) after Anti-Narcotics Unit (ANU) detectives intercepted her shortly after arrival.

According to investigators, 34-year-old Muli Ayan Ndunge had landed from Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, when detectives, acting on intelligence, moved in and led her to the ANU offices for further observation.

Within minutes, she reportedly began expelling pellets containing a white substance suspected to be cocaine.

She emitted 14 pellets, and under continued monitoring, another 14 followed, bringing the total to 28 pellets.

The pellets weighed 912.74 grams, with an estimated street value of Sh3,650,960.

A follow-up X-ray scan confirmed no additional foreign bodies in her system.

Ndunge is currently in custody as detectives finalize investigations ahead of her arraignment.
