Friday, September 5, 2025 - A speeding commuter train smashed into a Mazda Demio at a railway crossing in Githurai, nearly causing a fatal accident.
According to eyewitnesses, the driver of the Demio narrowly
escaped death after realizing the train was seconds away from impact.
In a desperate attempt to save his life, he jumped out of
the vehicle through the window moments before the crash.
The train rammed into the car with immense force, dragging
it several meters along the tracks and leaving it badly mangled.
Fortunately, no fatalities were reported, though the vehicle was completely written off.
