Monday, September 15, 2025 - Police officers at Witima Police Station in Nyeri County arrested a man who was caught harvesting coffee illegally on a resident’s farm in Kagumo Village.
According to reports, the farm owner alerted police after
spotting the unknown individual picking coffee cherries without consent.
Officers, working together with members of the public,
swiftly responded and managed to apprehend the suspect.
At the time of arrest, the man had already harvested
approximately 15 kilograms of coffee.
The suspect is currently being held in custody and will be
arraigned in court.
In a statement, the National Police Service reaffirmed its commitment to serving and protecting members of the public while urging locals to remain vigilant and report suspicious activities.
