Siaya residents demand to know Governor JAMES ORENGO’s whereabouts as insiders allege he was poisoned at State House during an official visit

Monday, August 4, 2025 - Growing concern has gripped Siaya County following the prolonged and unexplained absence of Governor James Orengo, who has not been seen in public for several weeks.

Residents are now demanding answers, with many questioning why the County leadership has remained silent.

According to locals, Governor Orengo has not been sighted in his office or at any public function for over a month, fueling speculation about his health and well-being.

The situation took a dramatic twist after vocal blogger Aoko Otieno alleged that Governor Orengo may have been poisoned during a State House meeting.

Aoko claimed that the incident occurred in June when Orengo led a Siaya delegation to State House for a meeting with President William Ruto.

Despite the growing outcry, Siaya County officials have not issued any formal communication regarding Governor Orengo’s condition or whereabouts.

Adding to the mystery, Orengo had recently made headlines for publicly criticizing the Government’s broad-based approach, a move that put him at odds with his long-time political ally and party leader, Raila Odinga.
