Friday, August 1, 2025 - Kapseret MP and close Ruto ally, Oscar Sudi, has once again left tongues wagging after being filmed buying roasted maize for KSh 1,000, a snack that usually costs just KSh 30.
In the viral clip, Sudi’s convoy is seen pulling over along
a major highway, where he begins interacting with roadside maize vendors.
To the surprise of many, he pays a staggering KSh 1,000 for
a single roasted maize cob, before generously handing over an extra
KSh 10,000, asking the beaming vendors to share the money amongst themselves.
Moments later, the flashy lawmaker drives away in
his luxury Mercedes G-Wagon.
While some Kenyans lauded his generosity,
others criticized the stunt as tone-deaf in the midst of a harsh
economic climate.
