Monday, June 16, 2025 – Outspoken Roots Party leader, George Wajackoyah, has claimed that he was offered a lot of money and 150 acres of land in Narok County in a bid to lure him into joining the Kenya Kwanza Government.
Speaking on Monday, June 16th, the former Presidential
candidate alleged that a sitting Governor approached him with the offer, which
also included a Cabinet Secretary position.
“Recently, the Ruto group offered me lots of money, a
governor spoke to me to join as a Cabinet Secretary, and somebody told me, we
shall give you 150 acres around Narok,” Wajackoyah claimed.
He said he rejected the offer, insisting that President
William Ruto should have contacted him directly.
“I was like hell no, why can’t Ruto himself pick up a phone
and call me and then say, ‘Look professor, can we meet and discuss issues
affecting this country?’” he said.
Wajackoyah also opened up about his experience within the
Azimio coalition, saying he felt sidelined and disrespected.
“When I was with the Azimio Coalition, they did not want to
listen to me.”
“They saw me as inferior... They categorized me as a bhang
smoker, a person who cannot think,” he said.
Despite the past treatment, Wajackoyah stated that he
remains open to working with any coalition that aligns with his party’s
ideology ahead of the 2027 elections.
